At 11:40 a.m., Saturday, Norwood School Superintendent David Crews was wishing he’d worn a dry suit. Between the rain, wind, and several dunks, he was beginning to shiver, and Dennis Eymann, next in line for the wet-seat, wasn’t jumping in any sooner than scheduled. The kids were lined up, too, waiting their turns, grinning at the chance to dunk Crews and Eymann, and, later, Norwood Chief Marshal Ed Reinhardt. It was all for a good cause, though, and the guys were all good sports. Their dunkings, and the rest of the events at the third annual Wright Stuff Community Foundation (WSCF)block party, raised money for the operation of WSCF’s youth programs. “Those who attended definitely had fun, and the dunk tank was the biggest success,” said Andrya Brantingham, WSCF executive director. Filiberto Marquez, the Midwest Rockfall, Inc. public information officer for the $1.2 million Norwood Hill rockfall mitigation project, is a happy man. Knock on … rock, gently, because everything has been going well and Marquez expects it to continue so, and that the project will be completed on time.

While U.S. Bank is a national bank, with over 2,500 branch offices nationwide, it doesn’t mean it can’t serve and employ local people. Grand Junction native and three-year Redvale resident Carrissa Kimble is the newest local to take over the reins of the Norwood branch.
